REgimental Receptions

In March 2024, the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation will host two regimental receptions at the Fluegel Alumni Center for the first class midshipmen.

Regarded as a “Welcome Aboard” reception for the graduating class, staff along with members of the Class of 1974 (their A Link in the Chain class) have an opportunity to engage with the midshipmen. They are encouraged to continue their relationship with the extended brigade after their graduation through the Alumni Association. The midshipmen also learn more about the benefits of being a Lifetime member, including the various services available to them as Alumni Association members. 

As part of the Alumni Association’s “Another Link in the Chain” (ALITC) program, the 50-year class sponsors the younger class during their four years at the Naval Academy.  During the graduation and commissioning ceremony, representatives from the ALITC class present each member of the graduating class with their Ensign/2nd Lt bars.
