James P. McMurrough (May 30, 1934 - October 8, 2019)
Mr. James P. McMurrough 85, of Andover, beloved husband of the late Anne (Horan) McMurrough, died, Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Herrick House in Beverly.
Born in Tiverton, RI, he was the son of the late Frank and Madeline (O'Rourke) McMurrough. He was raised and educated in Tiverton and was a graduate of De La Salle Academy in Newport, RI. He attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis and was a graduate of Providence College.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Navy.
Mr. McMurrough had been employed as a sales representative in the electronics and computer technology industry for many years.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, Jim was a sportsman who was an avid and experienced golfer, playing more than 100 rounds of golf annually. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a long-time resident of the Town of Andover and a member of the A.O.H in Lawrence, the Andover Country Club, the Atkinson Country Club and the Haverhill Country Club.
Jim is survived by his daughters, Catherine Johnson and her husband Glen of North Andover; Christine Grammas and her husband Peter of Hamilton; Patricia Greer and her husband Dana of North Carolina and Lizbeth Dellicker and her husband Lee of South Carolina; his 8 grandchildren, Patrick, Kelley, Nick, Ben, Dylan, Sam, Caroline and Courtney; his siblings, Carol Levin of Rotonda West, Fl, Kathy Palumbo of Fall River, MA and Frank McMurrough of Duluth, MN and several nieces and nephews.
Jim's family would like to extend great appreciation and thanks to the care givers from The Herrick House and Care Dimension for the kind and loving care given to Jim.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass which will be held in St. Ann's Church, 280 Hawkins St., Providence, R.I., Saturday, Oct. 12th at 10 A.M. Burial in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket, RI. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers.
