On September 1st, William (Bill) Everett passed peacefully at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK, after relocating from Casper with his wife Margot. Born in San Antonio, TX, Bill grew up in Casper, WY where he graduated from Natrona County High School in 1954, followed by attendance at the United States Naval Academy, graduating in 1959. During his tenure as a Navy Submarine Officer, Bill met and married Margot Belisle McKnight of San Diego, CA. After serving in the Navy, Bill and Margot relocated to Lincoln, NE where he attended the University of Nebraska Law School. The family returned to Casper where Bill was a partner with his father, Hume Everett, in their law firm. After several years in Casper, Bill accepted a position as General Counsel for Terra Resources in Tulsa, OK. His career with Terra/Sempra Energy ended in Dallas, Texas, when he was able to return to his beloved Casper, WY, where he joined the law firm of Williams, Porter, Day, and Neville.

In retirement, Bill pursued his recreational loves of fly fishing, boating on Alcova Reservoir, flying his plane around the state, and building and refurbishing firearms. Bill will be forever missed with his gentle demeanor, dry sense of humor, soft voice, gracious smile, and hearty laugh. A special service in Bill’s memory will be held at Schaudt’s Funeral Home in Tulsa, OK on Saturday, September 21st at 2:00 P.M.
