Obituary (MD): Mrs. Catherine (Kenneth C. Malley '57)

Catherine "Peggy" (Potter) Malley, 82, died suddenly and unexpectedly January 25,2019 from organ failure. Daughter of William and Elizabeth Potter, she was born in Baltimore on August 29, 1936. Graduate of Towson State College, she got engaged at the Naval Academy 2nd Class Ring Dance to Midshipman Kenneth Malley (USN Class of ’57) and was married in Baltimore on June 8, 1957. She raised two boys, Bill and Paul, while teaching in Maryland and California. In 1983, she joined her sons and husband in establishing Pinkey’s West Street Liquors in Annapolis where she became a community favorite. She had a large circle of friends and loved to travel and entertain on both land and sea. She doted on her great nephew Jared Stricklin and Grandson Patrick Malley. After living in Edgewater for 30 years Peg and Ken moved to Ginger Cove in 2015 where she was involved in many activities including designing and repairing jewelry for residents. Peggy was on the Flowers and Fine Art committees and also an enthusiastic participant in adult coloring. She is survived by here husband Ken, her sons Bill and Paul and grandson Patrick Malley, nephew Vernon and his wife Patti Stricklin Please take a moment to sign the on line quest book.
