Obituary (FL): Mrs. Maryln (Edward G. Buck Sr. '48)

Posted on 01/04/2019

Buck, Maryln  (June 14, 1931 - November 20, 2018)

Maryln "Bebe" Buck, age 87, died November 20th, 2018 at the Community Hospice Anne & Donald Mcgraw Center for Caring in Jacksonville, FL

Bebe was born in Annapolis, MD to LCDR Arthur and Lillian Whitter, USN(ret). She was recently laid to rest at the US Naval Academy's Columbarium in Annapolis, MD beside her husband Guy of 62 years. She was a true Patriot spending her entire life loving, supporting, and sacrificing for those serving in the Navy; daughter, spouse, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, and aunt to generations of long serving career Naval officers and all that comes with a military lifestyle.

She considered herself both a Bostonian and a Tidewater, Virginia girl, having been raised in and attending Medford High School in Massachusetts and then moving to Virginia Beach, graduating from Granby High School and working.

She is best known for her vivacious, fun, witty demeanor. A friend to all. A giver. She never met a person that she could not or would not engage in a friendly conversation. Bebe enjoyed and exceled at sports as well as music and art. Tennis, golf, painting, needle work, drawing, playing the organ…she was a creative woman. And most, if not all of her work was shared for others to enjoy.

She will sorely missed by all that survive her: sister Patricia, two sons; Ed and Sean, two daughters-in-law; Kim and Joanne, two grandchildren; Jeff and Jenna, and one great grandchild not yet delivered or cradled in her arms.

God rest her soul.
