Obituary (FL): Arthur Theodore Ogdahl '68

Posted on 12/17/2018

It is with deep sadness the family of Ted (Teddy) Ogdahl shares his passing on Sept. 30, 2018, at Vitas Hospice, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He was born in Williamsport on Aug. 26, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Wallace and Miriam L. (Ertel) Ogdahl, as well as his grandparents, Arthur V. and Louise (Holman) Ertel, known as Gram and Pap. Ted will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Jeri Ogdahl Pack (Thomas) and by his nephews, Brian (Stacey) and Willie (Karina) Pack. He will also be missed by his greatnieces and nephews, all Packs: Zack, Brooke, Audrey, Maggie, Kaylin and Anderson. Ted graduated from Loyalsock Township High School (Williamsport), class of 1964. He played football and was an active member of student organizations. He then attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., graduating in 1968. Ted was commissioned as a Navy Aviator, attended flight school in Pensecola, Fla., where he achieved his Wings of Gold. After completing his military assignments, he attended graduate school at Pennsylvania State University and was a lifelong PSU fan. He was always an inspired and dedicated professional with a varied career background. Ted, still a pilot, left the service in 1974. He retired as an agent for the FDA in 2009. He lived a life of distinction, serving in positions of increased responsibility, and had self-discipline, always maintaining a positive attitude. Ted cared about people, being a friend to many. He had a great sense of humor with a heart of Navy Gold. He especially liked Hawaiian shirts, a good cheeseburger, chocolate chip cookies and his greatest love, Beekie, the yellow lab. Most of all, he enjoyed time with family and friends at the "I Will Cottage" in Cammal, Pa. We will miss the times together laughing with him around the campfire.
