Dennis Joseph Davis  (June 6, 1935 - October 4, 2018)

A life well lived! Dennis Joseph Davis was born on June 6th, 1935 in Astoria, Oregon, to Margaret Teeven Davis and Glenn Dennis Davis. Denny passed away in his sleep on October 4th, 2018 at 4:00 am at Farmington Square, Eugene OR, at 83 years of age.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Dorthy (Dottie) Davis and his family: Scott Davis of Palm Springs CA, Kelley Reeher (Howard) of Longview WA; and Lane Davis of Eugene OR. He also is survived by stepsons Steve Sanders of Puyallup WA, Mark Sanders and Chuck Feist of Gleneden Beach OR, and Kelly Sanders (Julie) of Shoreline WA. Denny is also survived by grandchildren Emily Wilcox (Jason), Kyle Reeher (Amber), Jessica Sanders (Greg), Sydney Sanders (Bart), Kelzer and Seaton Sanders, and great-grands Marissa Wilcox and Afton Reeher, his brother Bill Davis (Marge) and former wife Glenna Lockman. He was predeceased by his parents, son Andy Davis, infant daughter Kayleen Davis, and two brothers.

Denny attended schools in Medford OR and University of Oregon, then briefly the Naval Academy, and graduated from Southern Oregon College. He earned school money by working on the railroad or driving a logging truck. He taught Math at North Eugene High School and coached track & field many years, positively touching the lives of thousands of young people. He and Dottie also officiated for track and field for many years at Hayward Field; Denny coached and/or officiated for about 50 years and was awarded many honors.

After we retired from North Eugene High School we traveled about the US, Mexico for 22 years, Europe, Canada & Alaska, some of our favorite places on the Oregon Coast, and of course to visit family and friends. God was wonderful to us! We had over 33 years together!

Special thanks to some of the special people in our lives: our family, Pastor Dan and Our Redeemer family, Dr. Brandt, Farmington Square caregivers, Signature Hospice, Oregon Track & Field Club, and Willamette Oaks Residence.
