Jacob G. Oaks
Cdr Oaks died of systemic infection; Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma on Friday, October 5, of 2018. Cdr Jacob G. Oaks SC USNR was born on 19 April 1932 in Everett, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of Everett High School, Bullis Prep School, USNA 14TH Company and Harvard Business School. He is survived by his wife Barbara L. Oaks and two daughters from a previous marriage, Victoria Lynn Maerker and Stephanie Diane Robinson and 5 grandchildren. Upon graduation from USNA he attended the Navy Supply Corps School at Athens, Ga and was then assigned to the Great Sitkin AE-17, USS Bache DD-470, Harvard Business School, Naval Supply Center P.H. Hawaii, NSA Da Nang, Vietnam, Naval Supply Systems Command, Asst. Sec. Def for I&L and Asst. Sec. Navy I&L. After 20 years service in the Navy he worked for Conrail (railroad) for 20 years as AVP Purchasing retiring again in April 1997. Cdr Oaks was cremated and will be inurned at the USNA Columbarium at a future date.
