Obituary (FL): Murl Edwin Husted Jr. '56

Capt. Murl Edwin Husted Jr. (Buzz) 83, of Pensacola, FL died September 25, 2018 in Pensacola FL. He was born 12/18/1934, to Murl Edwin Husted Sr. and Martha Crumpacker Husted in Unionville, Mo.

Buzz was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in 1956 and went through flight training in Pensacola FL, where he met and married Patricia Manders on 05/29/1957. Buzz and Pat thoroughly enjoyed the travel and experiences afforded by the Navy and the many lifelong friends made over the years. He retired after 30 years in 1986 as a Captain.

Both he and Pat were chart members of the Perdido Bay United Methodist Church, and Buzz served as the President of the Warrington Emergency Aid Center for many years.

Buzz was an easy going, kind man who loved to make people laugh. He had 101 stories that made people laugh even the 50th time they heard it. He was also an artist, musician, chef and poet. He never tired of watching the sunset. He was very close with his siblings and spoke to them often. He was not a perfect man, but he was a perfect husband and father and leaves his family with a gaping hole in their hearts and lives.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia Manders Husted of Pensacola, FL, daughters, Patricia A Husted of Navarre, FL and Beverly L Husted of Pensacola, Fl. brother, Dr. Frederick Crumpacker Husted (Donna) Of Springfield Mo., nieces, Martha Staggs Fast (Dennis) of Golden Co. Stephanie Staggs Fowler (Tom) of Columbia Mo. and Racheal Husted of Portland Or., and nephews, John Staggs of Unionville Mo. and Ethan Husted of Boise Id.

He was preceding in death by his parents, Murl and Martha Husted, his sister Mary Susan Husted Staggs, and his brother in law Glenn E. Staggs.

A Private Service will be held at a later date.
