Janet McDonough Tonetti passed away June 24, 2018. Janet grew up in Bay Village, Ohio and attended Denison University, where she was a Kappa Alpha Theta. She graduated from Ohio State University. She was married to John S. Tonetti, who pre-deceased her in 2014. When they lived in her beloved Caledon, Ontario, Janet was engaged in social work and was honored as a recipient of The Queen's Silver Jubilee Medal. They later resided in England and retired to River Hills, where she was active in golf and community work . An active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, she served as a eucharistic minister and reader. Janet was pre-deceased by her parents, Florence and Lawrence McDonough and her siblings Marcia, Thornton and Alethe. She is survived by her children John (Jacqueline), Mary Catherine, David, Richard, Thomas (Wendy) and Jim. Daughters-in law Marie Chung and Kimberlee remained very close to her heart. She is also survived by her 13 grandchildren; Cham-Sol, Evan, Emma, Collin. Paul, Michael, Lauren, Nicholas, Sam, Olivia, Sebastian, Karina, and Jack, and her faithful canine companion, Blarney. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Humane Society of Charlotte or St. Peter's Catholic Church. A memorial mass will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church on June 27th, 2018 at 9:30am, followed by a private internment at The United States Naval Academy at a future date. The Tonetti Family have entrusted arrangements to Boston's Mortuary.
