Obituary (VA): Lee Roy Turner Jr. '55

Lee Roy Turner Jr.  (February 17, 1932 – December 6, 2018)

Lee Roy Turner, Jr., 86, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2018. Lee was a native of Annapolis, Maryland and has resided in Virginia Beach for many years. He attended the United States Naval Academy and retired as lieutenant commander after 20 years of service. He was a Vietnam Veteran. Following his retirement he remained self employed as a real estate investor. Lee will be remembered for his integrity, wisdom and philanthropic heart. He was generous to all he met, whether family, friend or stranger. His love for animals was well known and he often gave generously to animal assistance organizations. He had numerous pets over the years that he rescued, nurtured and spoiled with love. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Lotte S. Turner, daughters Katherine Bolen (Gregory), Norma Bonney(John) and Lisa Mears (Reade), 7 grandchildren Kyle(Jordan), Derek (Estefania), Garrett, Trent, Zane, Liza, Mackenzie, 2 great grandchildren Charlotte and Lilly; sister Cleo McKinney. Lee will be remembered by extended family and dear friends. The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to special family friend Debbie Perry and the staff from Senior Corp who provided care to Lee during his illness, especially Marie and Angie. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 6 to 8 pm at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday at 1:00 pm, also at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation. Friends may offer condolences at www.kellumfuneralhome.com.
