Alumni Hall Honor Chair Program

The Honor Chair Program is a tangible way to remember and honor special individuals at the time of graduation, anniversary, or other special occasionsor just in recognition of that individualthrough the placement of an engraved brass plate on a seat in Alumni Hall, the primary assembly facility for the Brigade of Midshipmen.

A $1,000 gift to the Naval Academy Fund allows the permanent placement of an engraved brass plate to a seat in Alumni Hall at the Naval Academy. The text of the plate is determined by the donor and can include up to four lines with 26 characters per line. For samples of text, please review our Honor Chair Guidelines. Honor Chair orders are processed in batches typically once a quarter.

*Please note that matching gifts do not count towards the $1,000 gift for an Honor Chair.

Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium With a gift of $2,500 to the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium Maintenance Fund, you can honor a classmate, loved one, or friend by "taking" a seat in Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The honoree's name is inscribed on a plate permanently affixed to the seat; each plate permits four lines of text. Participation in the Take-A-Seat program helps to maintain the stadium and ensures that its legacy lives on for generations of graduates.
Max Bishop Baseball Stadium With a gift of $2,500 to the Baseball Excellence Fund, you can honor a classmate, loved one, or friend by "taking" a seat in Max Bishop Baseball Stadium. The honoree's name is inscribed on a plate permanently affixed to the seat; each plate permits four lines of text. Participation in the Take-A-Seat program helps to maintain the stadium and ensures that its legacy lives on for generations of graduates. You may name up to five seats in accordance with the amount of your gifts. 

You may name up to ten seats in accordance with the amount of your gifts. The text of the plate is determined by the donor and can include up to 4 lines with 26 characters per line. For samples of text, please review our Take-A-Seat Guidelines.
Take-A-Seat orders will be processed twice annually, with installations taking place in August and December. Orders must be received by 1 July to meet the deadline for installation with the August batch. Orders must be received by 1 November to meet the deadline for installation with the December batch.

* Chapel Pew Guidelines (including samples): The recognition plaques will conform to a standard size (to be determined by the Naval Academy), will be placed in a uniform location on the end of the pew, will be fabricated from the same material (bronze) and will utilize a uniform type font. The wording on each plaque will also be standardized and limited to a predetermined maximum number of lines (4) containing a predetermined maximum number of characters (24, including spaces). Pew recognition plaques that are given in memory of deceased individuals will begin: "In memory of. .. ": Pew recognition plaques given in honor of living individuals will begin: "In honor of...".
