Obituary (MA): David William Webster '65

David W. Webster, 76, of North Falmouth, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018. He leaves behind Nancy (Knight) Webster, his loving wife of over 52 years, his son Scott Webster and his wife Kate of Bolton, MA, his daughter Sara Collins and her husband Tim of Hingham, MA and his daughter Molly Fox and her husband Nevin of Newton, MA; and his eight grandchildren, Jim and Tom Webster; Lucy, Ellie and Rosie Collins; and Charlie, Andrew and Josephine Fox. He also leaves his brother Jay Webster and his wife Dianne, his sister Gayle Webster Vincent and her husband Paul Vincent, his sister-in law Susan Webster, his sister-in-law Judith Nulty, and numerous extended family members and dear friends. David grew up in Stoughton, MA and graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1965. After serving in the United States Navy as a surface warfare officer during the Vietnam War, David returned to Massachusetts to raise his family in Bolton. He became the President of Knight Fuel Company in Hudson, MA, and served on the board of directors of both the Hudson Cooperative Bank and the Hudson National Bank. He was also actively involved in the Hudson Boys and Girls Club and Rotary International. David and Nancy moved to North Falmouth permanently in 2008 to fulfill their lifelong dream of living on Cape Cod, where they met as children. David was a relentlessly positive person and an avid fisherman and sports enthusiast who enjoyed over forty years as a season ticket holder for the New England Patriots. His greatest joy was time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who lovingly called him 'Bucky'. Calling hours will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28 th at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 584 West Falmouth Hwy (Rte. 28A) in West Falmouth. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home on Saturday, September 29 th , followed by a burial with military honors in the North Falmouth Cemetery on Old Main Road.
