Richardson Leonard Henley, Jr., passed into eternity on August 29. He was born in Valdosta, Ga June 24, 1940 to Dick and Mabel Henley. He grew up in Decatur, Ga attending schools and becoming an Eagle Scout. He entered Northside High his junior year, playing football for Coach Creel. Rich received 2 appointments to the Naval Academy graduating in 1962. He was stationed in Long Beach, CA; Oahu, Hawaii; where he met the love of his life Betti, and Norfolk, Va. On November 26, 1967 Rich and Betti were married. They had 2 children Todd (Tara) and Elizabeth (Rob) and 6 grandchildren-Jamison, Faith, Stella, Cameron, Ashley and Jacob. Rich had a varied career with several companies and his own business. His precious grandchildren nicknamed him Dosh and his most cherished memories were enjoying time with them at their lake cabin in North, Ga and spending time in God's Word. He was a true officer and a gentleman and will be missed by many but we look forward to seeing him again in eternity.
