Halford Ernest Maninger (January 11, 1926 - August 9, 2018)
Halford Ernest Maninger passed away peacefully at his home in Pacific Palisades at the age of 92 with his beloved family by his side. Hal graduated from the Naval Academy with distinction in 1949 and was assigned to the USS Stickell in the Korean War. He then served on the USS Grouper, a submarine based in New London, Connecticut, where he met his wife Jean Moody while giving her a tour of the base. After leaving the Navy he joined the Northrop Corporation in 1956. The highlight of his career was helping win the contract to build and design the B-2 Stealth Bomber. According to Hal's wishes, there will be no memorial. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Pacific Palisades Optimist Club.
