Joseph Andrew Foy, age 63, passed away on June 20, 2018. He graduated from the Naval Academy in 1976 before beginning his 25-year career in engineering. He then chose to follow his passion for education, becoming a High School Teacher, educating students for the past 10 years at West High School and L&N STEM Academy. This fall he planned to continue his teaching career at CAK. Joseph enjoyed reading, and hiking in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. He was a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Cathy Foy, and step-mother, Azalee Foy. Joseph is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sharon Foy; children, Melody Berrong and husband, Chris, and Andy Foy and wife, Grace; grandchildren, Bray and Grayson Berrong; siblings, Michael Foy and wife, Kris, George Foy, Jr., Evalee Foy, and Milissa Foy. A memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on June 30that Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church with Pastor Andrew Keasling officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Friends of the Smokies (friendsofthesmokies.org).
