Douglas R. Aldrich, Webster Groves, died June 1, 2018.
Doug was born Feb. 20, 1921, in Galesburg, Illinois, to Harry (architect) and Helen Aldrich. He was the grandson of Norman Kellog (architect) and Christina Aldrich.
He excelled academically and on the tennis courts, winning many local and state championships. He held several national rankings. His father built their home and tennis courts at 185 Fuller Lane. He attended Northwestern University and the U.S. Naval Academy.
In 1948, he resigned his Naval Commission and joined the construction industry. He continued to play tennis and golf, enjoying his time in Seattle, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Hilton Head, South Carolina, before moving to Missouri.
Survivors include two daughters, four sons, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
