Edgar Wayne Weeks Jr.

Western Electric/AT&T executive Edgar Wayne Weeks Jr. passed away at home after a brief illness with his family by his side on June 4, 2018. He was 85. Wayne was born and raised in Thomasville, Ga., to parents, Edgar Wayne Weeks Sr. and Ethel (nee Norwood). He won an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis and graduated in 1956 with a bachelor of science in engineering. He went on to have an impressive career with Western Electric where he quickly climbed the ranks from engineer in various positions at Western and AT&T before being promoted to president of AT&T Network Systems. E. Wayne Weeks Jr. is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda (nee Mantell), son, Edgar Wayne Weeks III and his wife, Erin, and three grandchildren, Edgar Wayne Weeks IV, Alexandra, and Lillian Weeks.
