CDR Catherine (Brown) Eberhart, USN retired, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on April 26, 2018. She died peacefully with her mother at her side. Cathy was born May 1, 1961 in Ironton, Ohio to the late Joseph Brown and Elinor Brown. She grew up in Wadsworth, OH graduating from Wadsworth High School in 1979. Cathy attended the U.S. Naval Academy in the first year that women were represented in all four classes, graduating in 1983 with a bachelor's degree in Ocean Engineering. She made the Navy a career serving over 20 years as an aircraft maintenance officer. Cathy then went on to work in the Department of Labor for 13 years. She is survived by her daughter Karen Eberhart of Jacksonville FL, mother Elinor Brown of Rittman, OH, and brothers CDR David Brown, USN retired, of Oakton, VA, Tom Brown, and Joseph Brown of Chardon, OH.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am, Wednesday May 9, 2018 at Scared Heart Catholic Church, 272 Broad St., Wadsworth. Interment in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with Military Honors.
