Obituary (VA): Albert Marion Hayes Jr. '53

Albert Marion Hayes Jr.  (DECEMBER 22, 1929 – APRIL 27, 2018)

Captain Albert Marion Hayes, Jr., of Stafford went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 27, 2018. CAPT Hayes was born 22 December, 1929, in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Albert and Valarie Davis Hayes. He graduated from Stuttgart Memorial High School, and attended Arkansas State University, before transferring to and graduating from the US Naval Academy in 1953. Upon graduating from the Naval Academy, he married his high school sweetheart, Bobbye Wills. They spent the next 30 years as a Navy couple, and were married nearly 65 years at his death. After retiring from the Navy as a Captain, he and Bobbye worked as real estate agents for many years in Stafford. Survivors include his wife, Bobbye Hayes; children Albert “Chip” Hayes, III (Nancy), John Hayes (Victoria), and Dianne Vines (Craig); grandchildren Albert Hayes IV (Katy), Valarie Hayes, and Almira Hayes; great-grandchildren Albert V “Quint” and Avery; brother, William Hayes (Georgia Ann), and many loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel. A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Ramoth Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery.
