Jean Bary Zechella, 97, passed away Saturday March 31, 2018 surrounded by family and many wonderful caretakers at Vicar's Landing in Ponte Vedra Beach. She was born in Newport, KY daughter of William Bary and Minetta Scharstein Bary on July 27, 1920.
Jean was a supportive military and corporate wife. She made a wonderful home for her family in 28 different locations. Her three children were blessed to have the best mother any child could wish for. She will be remembered for her sweet and gentle spirit. However, she chose her battles wisely, and could be feisty if the situation called for it. Jean was a woman of faith and was a longtime member of Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra.
Jean was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years Alexander "Zeke" and her son Bary. She is survived by her daughters Pamela Moore (Allan) and Amy Zechella. Grandchildren are Jeremy Schillo (Laura), Bethany Schillo, Alexander "Zandy" Zechella, and Elizabeth Zechella, and great granddaughter Hannah Schillo.
A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Vicar's Landing on Friday, April 6th at 11:00 am with a reception following.
