Obituary (MD): Donald Francis Fagan '53

Donald Francis Fagan, age 88, of Frederick, died Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born August 23, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late John Lawrence and Blanche Hohenburger Fagan. He was the husband of Genevieve Donovan Fagan, who predeceased him in 2013.

Mr. Fagan was a graduate of Xavier High School, NYC and in 1953 graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy. He piloted missions over Asia from onboard the USS Bonhomme Richard. He was chiefly employed marketing advanced electronic systems to the US military and Department of Defense.

He was a member of the US Naval Academy Alumni Association, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion, Frederick. He served as a Boy Scout Troop Master with his sons, and enjoyed camping, hiking, boating and snow skiing. He was an avid Redskins fan.

Surviving are daughters, Carroll M. Lambert and husband Christian and Maureen E. Pleet, all of Frederick; sons, Donal L. Fagan and wife Angela of Altoona, PA, Patrick B. Fagan and wife Amy of Frederick, Robert F. Fagan of Clarksburg, John D. Fagan and wife Samantha of Alameda, CA and Timothy J. Fagan and wife Grace of Keedysville; grandchildren, Dorothy, Lois, Caitlin, Genevieve, Robert, Jack, Allen, Kelly, Sean, Heather, Liam, Kyle, Erin and Bentley; and great grandchildren, David, Stavros and Addison.

He was predeceased by an infant son, Joseph Michael Fagan.

Military interment services will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring on Tuesday, April 3 at 10 a.m.
