Eugene J. Sladinski, born on February 24th 1948 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 14th 2018, at home surrounded by family. Gene played football and graduated from McDevitt High School, attended the Naval Academy in Annapolis, was an active Knights of Columbus member and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Enola, Pennsylvania, and retired from Central Dauphin East School District as an aid for the visually impaired student program.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela J. Miller Sladinski of Enola, PA, originally born in Mechanicsburg, PA; his son, Jason Sladinski of Philadelphia, PA; his daughters, Heather Sladinski and Paulette Sladinski of Los Angeles, CA; his daughter, Michelle McGowan of Harrisburg, PA; and 3 granddaughters - Aviana, Mollie, and Ruby.
Friends and family are invited to attend services on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Catholic mass services will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 225 Salt Road in Enola, PA 17025, with visitation starting at 9:30am and mass starting at 10:30am. Procession will lead to the Mechanicsburg Cemetery located at 320 S. Frederick St. in Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Additionally, starting at 2pm, his children and wife will have a Celebration of Life Party hosted by dear family friends at Mr. G’s Place located at 3745 N. 6th Street in Harrisburg, PA 17110.
In lieu of flowers, Gene and his family would appreciate memorial donations to the American Heart Association at http://donatenow.heart.org in his honor and memory.
