Joyce "Joy" Carol Zech, 76, of Fayetteville, PA., passed away, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Menno Haven, Chambers Point Nursing Home in Chambersburg, PA. Born September 18, 1941 in Philadelphia, PA., she was the daughter of William and Helen Marlin. Joyce was a graduate of Upper Darby High School and attended Millersville State Teacher's college. Joyce met her loving husband Gary while he was attending the US Naval Academy and they were married shortly thereafter. She was a proud Navy wife for many years. She enjoyed sewing and serving on her many committees at the various churches through her Navy travels with her family. Surviving are her loving husband of 53 years, Gary Zech; daughter Deborah Icard and husband John Icard; 7 grandchildren, Robert Viger, Kimberly Tucker, Brian Viger, Andrew Viger, Jacy Icard, Kayra Icard, and Graylie Icard; 1 great granddaughter, Dani Joyce Tucker; 2 sisters Helen Haywood, Edith Whitfield; 1 brother William Marlin; she was predeceased by a daughter Donna Bennett, a brother Steven Marlin. A celebration of life was performed at Menno Haven, attended by her close family and devoted caregivers. Her family wishes to thank these wonderful caregivers at Chambers Point Nursing Home for their kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
