Obituary (NJ): Christopher Michael Troche '15

1STLT Christopher Michael Troche, USMC, 25 of Perth Amboy, joined his Heavenly Father on Friday, February 16, 2018 in Pensacola, Florida.

Chris was born in Jersey City, but was a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy. He graduated from Assumption Catholic School in 2007 and then went onto St. Joseph High School, Class of 2011 and is an alumnus of the United States Naval Academy, Class of 2015, Annapolis, Maryland. He was serving in the United States Marine Corps as a Naval Flight Student in Pensacola, Florida. He was a parishioner of Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish at Our Lady of Hungary Church, Perth Amboy.

Chris was a member of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, John T. Dempster Jr. Division Lawrenceville, NJ. He was a plank owner of the Battleship New Jersey BB ~ 62 Division. Chris was highly recruited by the Naval Academy's track team and was a three year All County and All State Track Champion while attending St. Joseph High School. He was also a member of the US Navy League, he was the first recipient to receive two prestigious Teddy Roosevelt Youth Medals from the Navy League. Chris also received League Cadet of the Year in 2004 and Sea Cadet of the Year in 2010. He was also honored by the Comite Patriotico Cultural Puertorriqueno of Perth Amboy in 2013.

He is preceded in death by his devoted mother Debra Sue ( nee Wilburn ) Troche, who passed away in 2014.

He is survived by his beloved father Edgar S.; cherished brother of Kelly, Derrell and his wife Joan Troche; adored grandson of Judith Troche; loving uncle of Sarah, Joseph and Rachel Troche; girlfriend Lilybeth Vargas; dear nephew of many aunts, uncles and cousins.

We begin to leave on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 10 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a funeral mass at 10:30 am at Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish at Our Lady of Hungary Church. Interment to follow with full Military Honors at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. Visiting is on Thursday, March 1 from 2 ~ 4 & 7 ~ 9 pm.
