Mrs. Anne E. (Horan) McMurrough, a native of Providence, R.I., and a longtime resident of Andover, Mass., died on January 9, 2018, surrounded by her family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was 81 and had been the wife of James P. McMurrough for 56 years. Mrs. McMurrough was the daughter of the late Dr. William A. Horan and Katherine (Wagner) Horan. She graduated from Salve Regina College. Her husband, who attended the U.S. Naval Academy before graduating from Providence College, took an electronics job that moved the couple to Andover in 1961. Mrs. McMurrough was an avid home cook. She enjoyed playing golf and boating. She and her husband took their family on sailing vacations and kept a boat at a marina in Portsmouth, R.I., for many years. In the winter, the couple liked to visit Bartlett, N.H., and ski at Attitash Mountain. In addition to her husband, in-laws, neighbors, and many nieces and nephews, Mrs. McMurrough is survived by her daughters and their husbands: Cathy and Glen Johnson of North Andover, Mass.; Chrissy and Peter Grammas of Hamilton, Mass., Trish and Dana Greer of Waxhaw, N.C.; and Liz and Lee Dellicker of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass. She also is survived by her eight grandchildren: Patrick and Kelley Johnson; Nick Grammas; Ben and Dylan Greer; and Sam, Courtney, and Caroline Dellicker. Mrs. McMurrough was predeceased by her parents and siblings: Marie McAndrew of Cranston, R.I.; William Horan of Providence, R.I.; Claire Brady of Dartmouth, Mass.; George Horan of Bristol, R.I.; Charlie Horan of East Providence, R.I; and Sue Horan of Providence.
