Event Overview
The Distinguished Graduate Award Weekend honors exceptional alumni for their significant professional achievements and contributions to their fields and communities. Just 118 graduates have earned the honor of DGA. Visit our 2026 DGA information page to get to know the 2026 honorees.

wednesday, 2 September

12:00 p.m. – Technical Rehearsal for AA&F Staff, Alumni Hall A/V crew; Alumni Hall
4:00 p.m. – Full Program Rehearsal for AA&F and Alumni Hall Staff, USNA Special Events, USNA Protocol, Master of Ceremonies, Color Guard, Sidebuoys, Ushers; Alumni Hall

THURSDAY, 3 September

11:45 a.m. – 2026 DGA Shipmate cover photo shoot, Fluegel Alumni Center (FAC)
12:30 p.m. – DGA Luncheon & Brief from Superintendent/Jeff Webb, Fluegel Alumni Center (invitation-only)
3:00 p.m. – Begin looping buses from NEX parking lot and FAC
3:45 p.m. – Ceremony walk-thru for 2026 DGAs, Alumni Hall
4:00 p.m. – 2026 DGA downtime, Bryant Room, Alumni Hall
4:30 p.m. – DGA Medal Ceremony, Alumni Hall
6:30 p.m. – DGA Cocktail Hour and Banquet Dinner, Dahlgren Hall (invitation-only)

Friday, 4 September

10:30 a.m. – 2026 DGAs meet in Alumni Hall lobby with their midshipman ‘running mate’
10:45 a.m. – 2026 DGAs attend 4th period class with their running mates
12:05 p.m. – 2026 DGAs lunch in King Hall
12:40 p.m. – Moderated engagement with midshipmen (invitation-only)
2:00 p.m. - 2026 DGA group interview in Bo Coppedge Room, Alumni Hall
3:20 p.m. - 2026 DGA parade review pre-brief in Bryant Room, Alumni Hall
4:00 p.m. - Parachutists land/silent drill, Worden Field
4:20 p.m. - 2026 DGAs review afternoon parade, Worden Field
5:20 p.m. - Post-parade reception,  Farragut House

Saturday, 5 September

1:00 p.m. - 2026 DGAs invited to Supe's tailgate inside stadium
3:30 p.m. - At kickoff, 2026 DGAs meet Wes at entrance to Supe's tailgate for escort to the field for recognition.
Toward end of 1st quarter – 2026 DGAs On-field recognition 

LOCATION, DIRECTIONS, And Parking

The DGA medal ceremony will be held at Alumni Hall, USNA at 4:30 p.m. on Thu 3 Sep. Guests are requested to be seated by 4:15 p.m. The banquet dinner to follow is invitation-only and will be held at Dahlgren Hall.

Parking arrangements will depend on whether you are attending the ceremony only, or the ceremony and banquet dinner following the ceremony.

Guests attending the ceremony only:

For guests attending the ceremony only, please park at the old NEX parking lot at NSA Annapolis, 38 Kinkaid Road, Annapolis 21402. Shuttle buses will begin transporting guests to Alumni Hall at 3 p.m. on Thu 3 Sep from the NEX lot to Alumni Hall for the ceremony. Busses will also return guests to their cars following the ceremony.

Guests attending the ceremony and invitation-only banquet dinner:

Guests attending the ceremony and banquet dinner should plan to park on the Yard for the ceremony, then walk to Dahlgren Hall for dinner following the ceremony, and return to their cars following the dinner.  

Vehicle Access to USNA: Special note for those guests attending both the ceremony and banquet dinner who do not have a DBIDS card or military ID (active or retired) for vehicle access on the Yard, USNA Protocol will provide Yard access instructions via link in the dinner invitation, which will be sent by email to confirmed dinner guests.

The 2026 Distinguished Graduate Award recipients exemplify distinguished leadership and service in their fields, sustained and active support of the Naval Academy and the alumni community, and personal character.

FAQs

Who can attend the Distinguished Graduate Award ceremony and banquet dinner?
•  The ceremony is open to all classmates of honorees, honoree guests and family members, USNA faculty and staff, and the Brigade of Midshipmen.
•  The DGA banquet dinner is invitation-only.
What is the cost to attend DGA events?
•  The ceremony and banquet dinner are complimentary.
•  Game tickets are required to attend the football game versus Towson through NAAA.
What should I bring?
•  Pedestrian entry onto the Naval Academy for the DGA ceremony requires REAL ID.
•  Vehicular access to the Naval Academy requires a CAAC card, DBIDS card, or retired military ID.
•  Guests are recommended to take the shuttle buses from designated parking areas onto the Yard to minimize congestion at the gates and around Alumni Hall for the ceremony.
Is there a dress code?
  • Business professional for the DGAceremony and banquet dinner.
  • For 2026 DGAs attending class, lunch, and leadership panel on Friday - business casual.
  • For 2026 DGAs reviewing parade on Friday - business professional (there will be a changing room available at Alumni Hall to change into business professional for parade following leadership panel).
  • Gameday attire is welcome for those attending the football game versus Towson.
  • For 2026 DGAs being honored on the field versus Towson - business casual with sport coat, no tie required.
