Bill Squires graduated from the Naval Academy in 1975 and was commissioned in the Navy. He served as a naval aviator for twelve years before joining the Naval Reserves. He has over 4,000 hours flying the P-3 Orion in VP-26 and VP-30 and has made multiple deployments all over the world. His last active duty station was the USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV-67), where he served as the Communications Officer. Bill retired from the Naval Reserves as a Commander after 24 years of service.
In 1987 Bill entered the sports and entertainment facility management industry and managed Yankee Stadium, Giants Stadium, ESPN Wide World of Sports (Disney World), and Cleveland Browns Stadium (now known as First Energy Stadium). Bill currently has his own consulting business featuring clients such as the New York Football Giants. Bill also works as an expert witness involving sports teams and venues. He is a Past President of the Stadium Managers Association and currently serves on several advisory boards that focus on the safety and security of sports and entertainment venues.
Bill has been very involved with the Naval Academy Admissions Office since 1991 as a Blue and Gold Officer. He also served as the Area Coordinator in northern New Jersey for sixteen years and served on the Area Coordinator Steering Committee for eleven years and as the Chairman of the Committee from 2014-2017.
Bill is an adjunct professor at Columbia University and has been teaching a graduate course in Sports Facility and Event Management since 2007. Bill's family includes his wife, Jodi, and children Sean and Sydney, and daughter Ashley and husband Mike Fougere and their son Connor. Bill's son has cystic fibrosis and Bill and his family are among the top fundraisers for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in the country.
Bill is a life-long member of the Naval Academy Alumni Association and a member of the President's Circle.
