CDR Mark S. Rupprecht '76, USN (Ret.)

Hampton Roads Chapter Trustee

Commander Rupprecht completed his naval career in 1999. Born and raised in Concord, California, he enlisted in the naval reserve at age 17. CDR Rupprecht completed the course of study at the Naval Academy Preparatory School in Bainbridge, Maryland before entering the U. S. Naval Academy with the class of 1976. After graduation and commissioning CDR Rupprecht served 23 years as a Surface Warfare Officer. He had experiences in a wide array of ships including; logistics, cruiser, destroyer, and battleship.
 
Upon retirement CDR Rupprecht worked for ManTech Systems Engineering Corporation as a program manager of a Systems Engineering and Testing support contract in the TOMAHAWK Weapons System. He is now a navy civilian employee at Commander, Operational Test and Evaluation Force, in Norfolk, VA.
 
CDR Rupprecht’s volunteer experience includes 12 years on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association Hampton Roads Chapter, in various Director and Officer positions, including four years as Chapter President. The last four years he has been a member of the Past Presidents Advisory Group. He served ten years on the Board of Directors of a local 501(c)(7) non-profit recreation corporation, including four years a President. Additionally, he is currently a member of the Knights of Columbus and serves as a council officer.
 
CDR Rupprecht holds an MBA from National University.  He is married to Kathleen Lamb Rupprecht of Berkley, Michigan. They have two adult children, Joanne (Virginia Beach, VA) and Patrick (Lawton, OK).
