Communications Committee (CC)

About the Committee:
The communications committee was formed in 2015 to provide internal and external communications on behalf of the A&SP. The mission of the committee is to foster a higher level of A&SP Trustee knowledge and interactivity, create efficiencies for the A&SP front office, present the benefits of the A&SP publicly, and help maintain the relevance of the A&SP as part of the USNA Foundation.

The Communications committee members are responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive A&SP communications plan and brand strategy.

Current Projects and Activities:
A&SP Website Initiative
Since its inception, the communications committee has been primarily focused on expanding the A&SP web presence on to meet the following objectives:

• Strengthen the A&SP identity within
Enhance the A&SP web pages within by making the A&SP section within more immediately identifiable by creating a masthead containing the A&SP logo for the A&SP and images, which are relevant to the A&SP mission.

• Promote Web Usage:
Ultimately the web will be the primary method for trustee communications and public awareness. Direct access to the pages has been made easier with more memorable URL –

• Expand Web Content and Usefulness:
Develop a comprehensive A&SP communications plan and institute processes to sustain effective web communications.

• Automate Processes:
Create efficiencies for the A&SP front office and streamline processes for the trustees e.g. event registration, dues and donations.

• Produced the 70th Anniversary video to commemorate the founding of the organization in 1944. The video chronicles the origin, mission and significant achievements of the foundation.

• The communications committee has provided trustees and/or families of trustees edited compilations of interviews conducted for the 70th anniversary video. Videos have been provided to:

The Winnefeld Family

• A&SP branding initiative – the committee designed the first ever A&SP Logo

• Publicly launched the new logo at the Spring 2016 Trustee meeting – the logo was molded onto one side of an honor coin developed by the NAAA.

• Winter 2016 - Worked with to activate the online dues and donations payment which is now fully operational

• Summer 2016 - Launched online events registration for trustees, which is fully functional for the Fall trustee meeting.
