Admissions Excellence remains a strategic priority at the Academy, with special emphasis on outreach to qualified minority high school students and candidates from historically underrepresented geographic areas of the country. The Office of Admissions provides a streamlined candidate identification and selection process that serves high school students and their families, guidance counselors and community leaders, congressional offices, volunteers, and the Academy. The objective of the program is the best possible pool of applicants, those who are prepared to handle the rigors of Academy life and assume the responsibilities required of commissioned officers. Admissions program areas with opportunities for private support include:

  • Admissions Outreach Initiatives
  • Educator Orientation Conferences
  • Centers of Influence visits
  • Candidate Awareness and Admissions Information programs
  • Midshipmen attendance at Congressional Academy Days
  • Production of marketing and display materials for use by staff, midshipmen and Blue & Gold officers

Summer STEM Program

The Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Summer Program for middle and high school students (grades 8 through 11) focuses on activities that are all about hands-on learning. By partaking in activities such as building a boat, a robot or working with cryptography or with lights and lasers, the desired outcome is to get kids excited early about science, technology and engineering.
