Donald D. Deem (May 1, 1930 — March 19, 2026)
Donald "Pud" D. Deem, 95, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in his Reading residence. He was the widower of Barbara J. Deem, who passed away on May 14, 2023.
Born in Reading to the late Robert D. and Anna A. (Rhodes) Deem, Pud graduated from Reading High School in 1948. He went on to the US Naval Academy, graduating in 1954, and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and Air Force National Guard. He was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1971 after many years of service.
He was a longtime member of Advent Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife. They traveled extensively throughout the United States, visiting countless National Parks and making precious memories along the way.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Kirk D. Deem (Rebecca) of Sun Lakes, AZ; Carol D. Deem of Lititz; and Lori S. Lutz (Stanley) of Sinking Spring; and grandchildren, Alexander, Benjamin, and Elizabeth. In addition to his wife, Barbara, and his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert D. Deem Jr.
Services for Donald will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA 19611, with viewing and visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Committal will take place at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
