Chet Hilburn Woolley  (May 17, 1966 - March 06, 2019)

Chet Hilburn Woolley, 52, of Volcano, HI, died at the Hilo Medical Center on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. He was born in Towson, Maryland and was a U.S. Naval Academy graduate at Annapolis, Maryland and a Lieutenant Commander with the U.S. Navy where he was a Diving Officer, Surface Warfare Officer, an Oceanographer, was involved in Navy Special Operations and was awarded the National Defense service medal. He was also a member of the Keaukaha Canoe Club, Disabled American Veterans, Military Officer Association and the Navy Mutual Aid Association. Friends may call at the Dodo Mortuary chapel on Sunday, April 14, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 PM, followed by cremation. Friends may also call on Tuesday, April 16 at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 Columbarium at 12:00 noon for urn committal services with military honors. The family requests that casual attire be worn to the services. He is survived by his: Wife, Suzanne Kamaluhia Woolley of Volcano, HI; Sons, Nigel Kealii Woolley of Volcano, HI and Liam Kaiakea Woolley of Volcano, HI; Parents, Craig & Elizabeth Woolley of Waitsfield, Vermont; Brother, Mark Woolley of Warren, Vermont; Mother-in-law, Wannee Smith of Boca Raton, FL; Brother-in-law, Stephen D. Smith of Boca Raton, FL; Hanai Brothers, Melvin Mason, Jr. of Hamakua, Telson K. Chang of Hilo, HI and Chris Rooke of Hilo, HI; Hanai Sisters, Dolly Baniaga of Miloli’i, HI, Carrie Lapinig of Hilo, HI, Robin Williams of Hilo, HI and Lisa Week of Kailua-Kona, HI; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and hanai family.
