Phyllis Longino, of Fayetteville, AR, passed away on November 9, 2018, at the age of 90. She was born in Salina, KS, but spent most of her youth in Texarkana, AR. She married Hugh E. Longino, her childhood sweetheart, in a ceremony at the United States Naval Academy, where Hugh had just graduated and commissioned as a US Naval Officer. She traveled the world and raised a family while accepting the responsibilities of a Naval Officer's wife. During this time she served as President of N.O.W. (Naval Officer's Wife Club) in San Diego, was a real-estate agent, owner of an Interior Design Consulting Company (which she continued after Hugh's retirement), and was active in P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization). Phyllis also took time to continue and excel in her love of artwork: painting, wood working and jewelry design. Phyllis and Hugh moved to Fayetteville after Hugh's retirement. They lived in Fayetteville until 1985, when they purchased Hugh's childhood home and moved back to Texarkana. She lived in Texarkana and was able to celebrate almost 60 years of marriage with Hugh until his passing. She then moved back to Fayetteville to be closer to friends and family. Wherever Phyllis lived, she was actively involved with her family, her church and the community. She is survived by her two sons and their respective families, which include five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh; her sister, Maurine; and her parents. A Celebration of Life service will be held in Texarkana at a later date.
