Lisa Strobel

Treasurer

Lisa is currently the Senior Director of Finance and Treasury Operations for the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation (USNA AA/F). She has worked for USNA AA/F for 15 years. Lisa reports to the President and CEO and co-leads the half dozen accounting staff. Lisa’s entire accounting career has been in the non-profit arena, first as an auditor and then in the role of Controller at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

Lisa began her career at the Organization reporting to the Comptroller and has since taken on that role which interfaces daily with the USNA Comptroller’s office, answering donor related and funding questions along with reviewing and coding all the check requests. She reviews, approves and documents variances in the organization’s monthly financial statements. Lisa is the lead for the annual financial audit, the preparation of the Forms 990 and the budget. Recently, Lisa led the organization’s implementation and training of a budget software package, led a training team for Concur/GANT process and the NXT/FE conversion.

Lisa works closely with the major gift team on gift-in-kind contributions and gift agreements. Lisa is also the liaison for the Naval Academy Athletic Association, where she researches funding questions and manages the funding of improvements to the coachs’ houses.  She has also stepped up in the role as CFO to present financial data during committee and board meetings. Lisa earned a B.S. in Accounting from Stevenson University and is seeking her MBA in Finance from University of Baltimore. Lisa earned her CPA in 1996 on the first attempt.
