BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Navy claimed its ninth-consecutive Patriot League Presidents' Cup, winning a school record 11 conference championships during the 2022-23 academic year to sit atop the overall standings. The Midshipmen also topped the men's standings, while Boston University claimed the women's title.

Navy's current streak of nine-consecutive overall titles is the most in Patriot League Presidents' Cup history. They eclipsed Bucknell's streak of seven straight titles (1998-2004) last year.  Navy has won 10 titles overall and have finished first or second in 16-straight years.  Prior to Chet Gladchuk becoming the Director of Athletics, Navy never finished higher than fifth (once in 1999-00).

The Mids compiled 155.75 points, winning league titles in men's and women's cross country, men's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's indoor track and field, men's and women's outdoor track and field, women's rowing and men's tennis.

Over the last 10 years, Navy has won 75 conference championships, the next closest school is Boston with 35.

Army West Point finished second with 153 points after collecting league crowns in baseball and men's lacrosse. The Black Knights also recorded runner-up finishes in men's and women's cross country, women's soccer, men's outdoor track and field, men's and women's tennis and women's lacrosse. Boston University (149) finished third after capturing league titles in softball and women's tennis in addition to earning at least a share of a regular-season title in field hockey, women's basketball, and men's lacrosse. Lehigh (126.25) finished fourth after winning the league's field hockey and men's golf championships, and Bucknell (121.25) placed fifth after claiming the women's soccer title.

Colgate, who claimed the league volleyball title on top of its third straight men's basketball championship, finished sixth with 85.25 points. Loyola Maryland (74.75) finished seventh after winning its fourth-consecutive women's lacrosse crown. Patriot League football and women's basketball champion Holy Cross ranked eighth with 71.5 points. Lafayette (64.25) and American (58) rounded out the overall rankings.

Boston University (91.5) ranked atop the women's standings for the sixth time since joining the Patriot League for the 2013-14 academic year. Navy (81.25), Army West Point (80), Bucknell (72.25) and Lehigh (70.5) rounded out the top five.

The Mids clinched the men's title for the first time since 2017-18 with 74.5 points, edging Army West Point (73). Boston University (57.5), Lehigh (55.75) and Bucknell (49) ranked third through fifth, respectively.

The Patriot League Presidents' Cup is awarded to the member institution with the highest cumulative sports point total for their Patriot League standings in sponsored men's and women's sports. Points are awarded based on a combination of an institution's regular-season and tournament finishes in each sport.

In the sport of football, points are awarded based on the final regular-season standings. If there is no regular-season competition and the champion is determined by a Patriot League Championship, points are awarded based on the final championship standings. If all teams compete in the Patriot League Championship and there is a regular-season competition, points are awarded based on an average of final regular-season standings and tournament finish. If all teams do not participate in the Patriot League Championship and there is a regular-season competition, points are awarded based on an average of final season standings and tournament finish. For those teams not participating in the Championship, the final regular-season standings will be utilized.

Bucknell leads all programs with 18 overall Patriot League Presidents' Cup titles, with Navy second with 10 and Army West Point with four trophies. The three schools are the only winners of the overall title in League history.
