U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation Welcomes
New Sr. Director of Human Resources

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The United States Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation welcomes Dr. Joy Jones as Sr. Director of Human Resources. She starts on 3 October.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Joy Jones to our Enterprise,” said President and CEO Jeff Webb ’95. “Her experience demonstrates a clear commitment to the care and wellbeing of employees. This ‘people focus’ aligns with the customer service mindset we take with our constituencies in three strategic lines of effort - offering unique experiences; fostering relationships with and among alumni and members; and building legacies of service to the Naval Academy and the alumni community through philanthropy and volunteer leadership. Dr. Jones will be caring for the staff that care for our community.”

In her role, Dr. Jones will lead the Human Resources strategy for the Enterprise, focusing on enhancing the career lifecycle for all employees. Her areas of responsibility will include talent management, employee development, diversity, compensation, culture development, and metrics associated with employee wellness. She will report to Robert Gast, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, and work with Tom Cloutier, Human Resources Manager.

Dr. Jones joins the team after a career of 17 years with WestRock, where she held several roles of increasing responsibility. Her most recent role was Director of HR Initiatives, with a focus on diversity. She earned a BS in Occupational, Safety, & Industrial Hygiene from Millersville University, a MS in Human Resources Management from National Louis University, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration, with a concentration in human relations, from Nova Southeastern University.

In her spare time, Joy loves to travel, spend time with her four children and family, and read. She is in the process of relocating from Covington, GA to Annapolis, MD.
