John Robinson Bellinger (Monday, September 24th, 1934 - Friday, February 7th, 2020)
John R. Bellinger passed away on February 7, 2020 in Sun City West, AZ. He was 85 years old.
Born on 24 September 1934 in Glens Falls NY to George L. and Lois R. Bellinger. He attended Maple Heights High School, United States Naval Academy, Naval Aviation Flight training, Naval Post Graduate School, Naval War College and George Mason University.
John served 28 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in February 1980. Duty stations included two Naval Aviation Patrol Squadrons, a Fleet Weather Center, Staff of the Commander Anti-Submarine Warfare Forces, Staff of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Staff of the Chief of Naval Operations and the Defense Communications Agency.
After retiring in 1980, John worked for several companies, mainly in contractual support of the U.S. DOD, NOAA and NASA until 2000, retiring again.
His is survived by his former wife Sara Elizabeth Oakes Bellinger; his children from first wife Johnnie Mae Thomas Bellinger; Frank Bellinger, David Bellinger, and Mary Bellinger Jensen; his brother Richard Bellinger Starbuck; four grandchildren; John Tyler Jensen, Michael Jensen, Daniel Bellinger and Elizabeth Bellinger; Great grandson; Pryor Jensen and former wife Margarita Nieves De Jongh Bellinger
No religious or memorial ceremonies will be held.
