Obituary (WA): Glenn Douglas Wildfong '81

Glenn Wildfong  (10/11/1956 - 8/15/2019)

Glenn D. Wildfong, a long-time resident of Washington State died peacefully on August 15th 2019 at age 62. Glenn is survived by his son Andrew Wildfong; his siblings Dennis (Cheryl) Wildfong, Michael (Terry) Wildfong, Cheryl (James) Tisron, Keith (Denise) Wildfong, Glenn Wildfong, Kathleen (Roger) Jolink; and many nieces and nephews. Glenn was born in Grant, Michigan on October 11, 1956 to Wanda (Shepard) and Leo Wildfong. He went to Kent City High School before joining the military. He graduated from US Naval Academy in 1981 with a degree in Economics. After serving in the military, he went back to school to get a Computer Science degree from Grand Valley State College in 1984. Upon graduating, he moved to Washington State to work for the Naval Seas System Command in Keyport, Washington. Glenn was an avid learner. He continued his education at Seattle University with a master's degree in Software Engineering while working for Intermec Corporation. Glenn and Laura met in college and later married in 1986.They welcomed Andrew Wildfong into their lives on October 13th, 1993. While they eventually separated, Glenn and Laura worked together at Northwest Nurseries for over 10 years. Glenn will rest next to his parents at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Conklin, Michigan. A funeral service will be held in Michigan in July 2020. Memorial donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at https://www2.jdrf.org.
