Posted on 07/29/2019

Louis Robinson  (July 18, 2019)

A graveside ceremony with full military honors will be held for Lt. Com. (Ret.) Louis Norman Robinson at 10 AM Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 PM Monday at Rice Funeral Service. Lou passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at the Jack Montgomery Veteran's Medical Center in Muskogee. He was 76.

Born July 29, 1942 in Denver, Colorado, Lou was the son of Louis and Lenore (Mackett) Robinson. At the age of five, his parents bought a place at Turkey Creek where he attended grade school. Lou really looked up to his older brother, Aubrey, who was a medic in the Marine Corps. He was fascinated with the military from an early age and enrolled in the New Mexico Military Institute at the age of twelve.

Lou graduated from the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD with his Bachelor's of Science in Engineering. He served over 20 years and retired as a Lieutenant Commander in 1984.

As an engineer, Lou was proud of his work associated with the SR 71. He pursued a successful career doing government procurement with Boeing and Aviall following his naval service. Louis met Kathy J. Blackwell while working in Dallas and the couple married September 5, 1992 in Minneola, Texas. Together, they contracted with cable companies in the trenching business which brought them to Rogers County in the late 90's. He loved his time in Oklahoma, raising buffalo and spending his retirement years in and around Claremore.

Surviving family members include his wife of 26 years, Kathy Robinson and his son, Eagle Robinson and his wife, Laura; and their children, Eagle Jr., Locke, and McKenzie.
