James A. Crowley May 7, 2019 James A. Crowley, 65, of Midlothian, Va., passed away May 7, 2019. He is survived by the love of his life, Dawn Crowley; children, Brian Crowley (Lauren) and Beth McNamara (Joshua); granddaughter, Reese McNamara; and parents, Daniel F. and Lois Crowley. James was born and raised in Syracuse, N.Y., and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1975. After graduation, he served five years in the Navy, followed by an engineering career with G.E. and, was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. As an avid cyclist, he was an ambassador for the Capital Bike Trail. He also enjoyed volunteering as an usher for the Dominion Arts Center/Altria Theater and tutoring students at John Tyler Community College. A memorial ceremony will be held 10 a.m., May 29, 2019, at the U.S. Naval Academy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the U.S. Naval Academy Class of '75 or the Virginia Capital Trail.
