Obituary (IL): Colleen Jo Cahill '93

Colleen J. Cahill, age 48, of Homewood, IL. Born January 12, 1970. After a courageous battle with cancer, she passed away December 4, 2018. Beloved mother of Christian Allen and Ezekiel Allen. Cherished grandmother of Lilliana. Loving daughter of Patricia and James Cahill. Dear sister of Sean Cahill and Neill (Rebecca) Cahill. Fond niece, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Colleen excelled in academics in school. The National Honor Society High School, Salutatorian, Active in athletics and many extra-curricular activities. She worked at Deloitte & Touche, De Paul University and Axiom Consulting. She loved spending time outdoors with a fond love of the Indiana Sand Dunes and the shores of Lake Michigan. She loved to travel and had many adventures in her travels that she loved sharing these stories with her children and family. Most of all she loved being with her children Christian, Ezekiel, and her granddaughter Lilliana. She would often talk of how proud she was to be a grandma and the joy she had in being able to spend time with Lilliana.

She was proud of her service to our country in the Navy and was accepted to the Naval Academy Prep school. She was loved by many and she loved many in her life and she was especially proud of her niece Masyn and enjoyed a bond that was special to both of them. Visitation will be held on Sunday December 9, from 2 - 6pm at the Tews-Ryan Funeral Home 18230 Dixie Highway in Homewood and again on Monday morning from 9 am until the time of prayers at 10:30 am. Funeral Mass will be held immediately following at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Homewood, with Mass at 11 am.
