Ronald James Charrier, 84, of Mexico, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 30, at St. Brendan Catholic Church with Fr. Dylan Schrader officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Brendan Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Ron was born July 1, 1934 in Moorestown, New Jersey, the son of George Michael and Helen Conlith (Knap) Charrier. On August 2, 1958 in Owensville, Maryland, he married Anna Marie Gibson. She passed away on December 18, 2008. He then married Pam Caldwell on March 15, 2016 in St. Louis. She survives. Ron graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1958. He then joined the Air Force as a Fighter Pilot, primarily with F100's and F-4 Phantoms. In 1970, he spent a year as a Combat Veteran in Vietnam. During his military service, Ron earned the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. Mr. Charrier retired from the Air Force in 1978. After his military career, Ron worked for Missouri Military Academy and as a financial planner. He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church and enjoyed golfing and traveling. Survivors include his wife, Pam Caldwell of the home; four children, Jim (Cathy) Charrier of Moberly, Robbi (Ron) Hicks of Foley, Alabama, Renee (Steve) Willis of Wichita, Kansas, and Richard (Taresa) Charrier of Columbia; three step-children, Christy (Ryan) Nowlin of Mexico, Jason (Nellie) Caldwell of Mexico and Angie (Jason) McIntosh of Kingdom City; six grandchildren, Jessica (Lowell) Tremain of Moberly, Rhonda (Paul) Middlin of Lansing, Michigan, Ryan (Molly) Charrier of Alabama, T.J. Charrier of Columbia, Michael Charrier of Columbia, and Anna Charrier of Columbia; seven step-grandchildren, Jordan, Brady and Emma Nowlin, Mitchell Caldwell, Morgan Lipscomb, Isabelle and Isaac McIntosh; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, Anna Marie, Ron was preceded in death by his father, George Michael Charrier; his mother, Helen Conlith Bartello; step-father, Thomas Bartello; one brother, George Orval Charrier.
