DORIS K. MILLER

On December 25, 2017, Mrs. Miller attended Roland Park, Eastern High School, and Washington College. During her school years, she modeled for many photographers and television ads and was named one of the most beautiful professional models in Baltimore in 1951. Hired out of college by the May Company as their fashion coordinator and was a member of the New York Fashion Group and the Women's Ad Club of Baltimore. In 1954, she married Charles Erskine Ingram and moved to Tacoma, Washington. She loved politics and was active in many civic fields including Chairing her county's Republican Committee. In 1959, the family moved to New Jersey where they raised two children on their farm. She continued to be active in State and local politics. Mrs. Miller was an accomplished figure skater, pianist, and skeet shooter. Mrs. Miller circled back to Baltimore when she reunited with her college beau Paul G. Miller, who had recently transferred to Baltimore as Chairman of Commercial Credit. They met in 1943 at a Naval Academy tea dance during Mr. Miller's plebe year. He told his "wife" (Academy speak for roommate) that he was going to marry her one day and in 1979. They were wed at the Naval Academy Chapel. Mrs. Miller continued her love of entertaining and travel as they hosted business associates and friends from around the world. She was a true patriot as her many friends. Survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Paul G. Miller, her daughters Susan Ingram-Legvold of Yelm, Washington, and Dorian Filbert of Monkton, Maryland and son in law Harry Filbert of Monkton, fourteen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren and two step-sons.
