John Cary Allen, 84, passed away on December 31, 2017. He was a resident of Jupiter, FL, and Plymouth, MA. Born on April 30, 1933, in Washington, DC, he was the son of Floyd McJunkin Allen and Winifred Mullikin (nee Cary). He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1955 and he spent 20 years as an officer in the Navy including two tours in Vietnam and six years in the Far East. He earned a Master's Degree in Russian History from Georgetown University. Following his retirement from the Navy, he earned an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College. He worked for Bank of Boston for 21 years before retiring in 1998. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn (Skorupski), and is survived by a daughter, Mary Allen (Hanover, NH), son, Cary Allen (Hobe Sound, FL), and five grandchildren. He loved to travel with Marilyn and made over 25 trips overseas. He was dedicated to his family and was always compassionate towards the many people and organizations in his life. He will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank his caregivers, especially Wanda Sapp, and the staff at the Jupiter Kidney Center for their care and support.
