Welcome to the Home Page of the United States Naval Academy's Class of 1986.
  NEWS NEWS NEWS
Updated 16 October 2006, from J. Eric Smith: Our 20th Reunion Homecoming is over . . . andI hope everyone's experience this weekend was as amazing as mine was. It was great to see and speak to so many of you.
I want to once again specially thank the following folks for the work they put into this event . . . please read to the end: I want you to know who did all the work.
First and foremost, '86 President Emeritus Dan White. Dan has brokered us through three major reunions, each one better than the one before it. Incredible job this time around!!!
Eric Johnson: thanks for being the Golf Guru. Your enthusiasm is, as always, infectious, and much appreciated.
Karen White, Jamie Grimason, Dr. Marty McGinn, Dr. Lisa M. McGinn, LaNeil Price: for manning the check-in stations and making sure everybody made it to where they needed to go. Also to everyone who gave generously to help LaNeil and Rich Price's daughter, Megan, get the service dog that she needs.
Vicki and Bo Gordy-Stith: for leading us in the Fallen Classmate Memorial on Friday night. A moving, powerful moment.
John Worman: for giving us an opportunity to offer hospitality and support to combat-injured vets and the service members who work with them, and to all of you who donated tickets to allow them to join us for the game.
Tom Kolongowski, Mike Tharp and their crew: for their continuing efforts to keep the '86 tailgating tradition alive in our classic Quonset Hut Parking Lot location. You can find them there at EVERY home game, not just the homecoming ones every five years!!! Contact them to find out how you can help or what you can bring, and be sure to stop by when you are in town (or even GO to town specially to see them).
To Anne Groves Hammond, Jeff Hornberger and Tom McGovern for stepping up as Class Officers to help lead us toward the 25th reunion (it's not as far away as it sounds!); also to Anne for having to write a Shipmate column this week as well!! Much appreciated!!
If I am forgetting someone, please (a) forgive me, and (b) REMIND ME, so I can properly thank them for their efforts.
Finally . . . while it's all fresh in your heads, send me your feedback on the weekend, and your thoughts and ideas for what we might do different five years from now, or what we want to keep EXACTLY the same. I may not respond to everything right now . . . but will keep it on all on file and use it as we beging to plan the 25th.
In closing . . . thanks to ALL OF YOU who came, brought your families, and made it amazing experience. We had almost half of the class under the big tent on Saturday. That's pretty amazing after 20 years and however many thousands and thousands of miles we've all traveled since May 21, 1986!
