I
received a letter from Bill Prince's wife, Marlene, that Bill has been
admitted to Huron Woods, a senior memory care facility affiliated with
St. Joseph Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He has been
diagnosed with Parkinson's, progressive aphasia and other forms of
dementia. After much devoted home care, his family finally was forced
to seek the assistance of a care facility.
Bill
and I became the best of friends while serving on the USS Soley
(DD707) after graduation. I was Best Man for his marriage to
Marlene. I thought his many other friends, knowing of his situation,
would want to keep him in their thoughts.
