This Site Is Intended For Viewing At A Screen Resolution of 800x600
Your Screen Palette should be set to High Color (16 bit)
Your Font Setting should be set to Small
Settings: The above settings are the best for for surfing the web and getting the best viewing from your computer applications. If you are using a screen resolution less than 800x600, you will not be viewing the information as it was intended. Your text may be jagged and images may not be as crisp and clear. If you do not have your monitor set for High Color (16 bit) you are missing a world of clarity. It is recommended that for proper viewing of ALL Internet sites, you set your monitor to these settings, providing your equipment is up-to-date. You should also be using the latest version of either Netscape or Internet Explorer, though the site has been tested with other browsers and older browsers and found to be satisfactory.
Frames: With frames, which this site uses, the browser shares at least two open windows. Sometimes the content is too wide and many times too long for the available space in the right frame. Thus, scroll bars automatically appear which take up more of the available space. The optimum page avoids horizontal scroll bars. This can be done at least two ways. First, the web page can be designed to fit a limited width. Some pages are best viewed in a non-frame window, and several pages on this site will open to their own window. This is under the control of the web page creator. Second, the visitor to the site has computer settings that if used optimally will make web page viewing easier. The settings come with trade-offs. Some of us have poorer vision than when we were younger; therefore, need larger print on the screen. For those, set the monitor to 640X480 resolution with large fonts. If the large print is not needed, set the monitor to at least 800X600 and small font. This is probably the best setting for 15" and 17" monitors. Those with 19" monitors and some with 17" monitors may find 1024 x 768 to be satisfactory. The advantage of using the higher resolution is that more content fits the screen. The disadvantage is that the content becomes smaller at these higher resolutions.
