Did you miss the last month's issue?September Issue

I'm sorry to report that there's not much to report this month. My sources have been dry lately and my creative juices are dry too. I believe vacation time has taken its toll on inputs, and I haven't been very good at "shaking the trees" for info because of being preoccupied with our move (please take note of my address change in the header) - excuses, excuses!

The USNA '55 Web Site is up and running, and a big hit, thanks to the hard work of Norm Palladino (24), Pat Taylor (16) and John Roberts (1). To visit the site, enter http://members.aol.com/us55na in your browser location field.

More Classmates have joined the '55 Listserv bringing the total up to 146! Welcome to: Ed Chapman (16) in Los Gatos, CA (EChap104@aol.com); Tom Cann (16) in Crownsville, MD (TCann29993@aol.com); Rory Dickens (24) in Jacksonville, FL (dickens_r@popmail.firn.edu); Bill Conway (20) in Jenkintown, PA (wconway@voicenet.com); Paul Manikowski (18) in Dallas, TX (paulski@swbell.net, and John Harter (21) in (new address): 103 Mollere Dr., Waveland, MS, tel: (601) 463- 0044 (jpsig@aol.com).

NOTICES. Homecoming this year is October 18th against VMI. We will tailgate in the usual place. Our post-game party will be at Busch's Chesapeake House, outside Annapolis on Route 50. Anyone desiring to attend should call Don Conner (8) at (410) 974-6310. The next Annual Dark Ages Party is scheduled for February 28, 1998 at the Army-Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA.

POTPOURRI. Dan Peckham (2) has a spare '55 Lucky Bag he wants to get rid of. If you're interested, contact him at (301) 460-1423. Fred Schoenberger (11) hopes all enjoyed the Mars pictures. He was part of the launch team (NASA cognizant engineer for ordnance systems) on the Delta II that launched the bugger from the Cape last December. Further to last month's binnacle list - Geoff Gardner (13) is undergoing chemotherapy and finds it not as debilitating as expected. He still manages to play golf during the good weeks. Paul Sutherland (7) is running for local office (Town Council) in the Outer Banks (Southern Shores) and presently is in the hand shaking, baby kissing and smiling all the time mode. His wife, Pat immediately went out and got her own phone number the day he filed!

That's all!

45th Class Reunion

Conceptual planning for the 45th Reunion has begun. Dates are October 18-22, 2000 and the Saturday football game is with Rutgers. We have over 100 rooms reserved at the Annapolis Marriott which is on the waterfront within walking distance of the Yard. We also have additional rooms reserved at the Days Inn on Route 50 (same as for the 40th). We still have a long way to go - if you have any ideas, put them on our Listserv or call me at (703) 759-7743 or another Washington area Classmate.
