We have been advised that the Health Bulletin we posted here concerning what to do if you are alone and have an apparent heart attack, is not endorsed by any of the sources referenced below.  We were alerted to this by Timothy Elizabeth Woodbury of the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association who happened to read it on this website.  She cited the following sources that acknowledge that "Cough CPR", as it is known, has been used by doctors under certain circumstances during operations, but that it is not recommended as a self-administered procedure. We suggest that you read the referenced sources and make your own judgment.
